Fronts
A storm system goes through an evolution from birth to death and will gain strength and energy as it starts to spin. Fronts will form, dispense their energy and then dissolve. Eventually the storm will disintegrate into a simple air mass.
Cold Fronts
A cold front is a boundary of colder air that is pushing up warmer air ahead of it. Clouds—usually cumulus clouds—are found along a cold front and just ahead of it with precipitation occurring along and just ahead of the front as well. The frontal boundary is steep, and the weather can be severe.
