Falling Lead
Now pull the rope and switch ends. The climber leads, clipping bolts, and begins taking falls at the highest clipped bolt. The clipped bolt will be somewhere between your chest and waist.
Take a single inhale, then exhale as you fall. When you’re comfortable, take a step up and fall with the draw at your waist, then mid-thigh, then knee, then mid-calf, then at your ankle. Don’t go beyond the ankle—to practice the skills we’re emphasizing, there’s no need to fall any farther than this for now.
