The Importance of Plants
Plants are some of the most nutritious foods available to you. They are rich in phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, amino acids and healthy fats.
They are also the preferred fuel source for the good bacteria that live in your gut. Plants include vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, grasses and grains. Ideally, you are choosing foods that are in-season, organic, and grown locally. If you are lucky enough to have a farmer’s market near you, support your local farmers.
